Sometimes, you get just the right motivation to get you over the hump.  This week, I talk about a letter that I received from a listener, and the impact that had on my motivation to restart that Late Night Internet Marketing Podcast.  I turn that into some “business motivation tips” will help you in your daily struggle

This week brings the first installment of a new segment — Internet Marketing Fortune Cookie.  Basically, I answer the question — what does this fortune cookie tell us about internet marketing.

I also discuss some of the latest news from people who study Facebook – namely the concern that shares are going down.  Video views seem to be going up, however, and I talk about how to take advantage of that trend.

Episode 089 Transcript

This week on the Late Night Internet Marketing Podcast we talk about the lessons that I learned from a listener who reached out to me and what you might take away from those lessons for your business. We also take a look at some sharing problems on Facebook and their recent trends for video usage, and we talk about how that might affect your affiliate marketing strategy.

All this and more on the Late Night Internet Marketing Podcast….

It’s been awhile since you’ve heard from me and I wish I could tell you that it’s because I’ve been off working on this amazingly massive internet marketing project where I consciously decided to put the podcast on hold. That’s not exactly true.

I have been working on a lot of stuff. I’ve also been doing some stuff that doesn’t count, like reading Game of Thrones. It’s an awesome book, by the way. I know the HBO thing is really great and I’ve been watching that, too, but the Game of Thrones books are totally fantastic, so highly recommended.

Letter from Dave…

This week on the podcast I want to talk to you about a couple of things. The first thing is the old adage that I’ve covered so many times that the only way to really fail in a business that you start online is to quit. Case in point, the Late Night Internet Marketing Podcast. If you quit, you’re done. But if you wait six months and then publish another episode, you’re right back at it. The fact of the matter is, once again I have a commitment to drive this thing forward, and that’s what I plan to do.

If I’m completely honest with you, I probably would have put this off for another couple of weeks, maybe until the first of the year, but I got this letter – an actual physical letter.

It turns out that before the internet people used to communicate with trees. They would cut the trees down and mash them up and make this stuff called paper. Then they would write on the paper and they would send messages to each other that way. I know, it’s totally crazy, very hard to believe. When these things were delivered, for awhile they came by carrier pigeon but eventually there were these things called mailboxes. In your mailbox you can get one of these. If you’re lucky like me, you might actually get a physical letter from a listener.
