Reaching your goals — that's something we all try to do.  Especially this time of year.

But wait — you had goals last year.  Did you reach them.  I'll bet, if you are at all like me, you did not reach all of them.  Why not?  Have you even stopped to think about it?  What about evaluating your goals from last year?

Most people are eager to put last year behind them.  But isn't it likely that not understanding last year's “gaps” will just put you in position to repeat last year's “mistakes”?

In this video I talk about the important of reviewing last year's goals and figuring out what you can do differently this year to get a better result.

Of course, you can viiew this on YouTube here:  http://youtu.be/D_jfb_-dQqc

It’s Mark Mason from Late Night Internet Marketing. Back by popular demand. I used to do these videos and people seem to like them, so I’m going to start doing them again. I hope that floats your boat and you’re looking forward to that.

It’s almost the end of 2014. If you’re like me, I would say most of us we spent a significant amount of time in 2013 trying to figure out exactly what we were going to accomplish this year. To be honest with you, if I critically assess what I wanted to do with regard to my online business compared to what I actually got accomplished, it’s not that great. There are big gaps between what I expected to do in December of 2013 and what I’ve actually accomplished now that we’re in December of 2014.

That’s okay. That happens. One of the reasons that we set goals is so we can assess our progress and do something different. Einstein is often attributed with saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. So if I don’t want the same result in 2015 that I experienced in 2014, I have to do something different.

I’m working on what those “do different” things are going to be. I think I know what they are, we’ll probably talk about them in some future videos. One of the things I’m going to do differently is bring back this video blog, because I’ve had people ask me for it and I kind of enjoy doing it, so we’ll do that in 2015. You can consider this the first installment, an early installment.

I’ll challenge you to think about what it is that you did or didn’t do this year. Before you spend an enormous amount of time making smarter goals and all that stuff I always tell you to do, be honest with yourself and think about what you really hoped to accomplish this year and what you were actually able to accomplish this year. If there are gaps, own those gaps and try to understand what it is that you need to do differently next year in order to change things and change the outcome to get an outcome that you really like.

One of the things I need to do differently is not record video at sunset, because that’s really difficult for me to see what’s going on. Other than that, we’re all good. I’m glad to be back on video. I hope you are having an absolutely fantastic day.
