Another reason why we often fail to accomplish our internet business goals is that we fear rejection. For instance, when it’s time to write a blog post or create a product, we simply might not be able to do it. In the back of our minds, we know it is a good idea, but at the same time, we worry that our efforts will lead to a rejection—or, possibly, a public criticism of our work.
So we don’t make progress. And we rationalize it by saying that we would have been rejected, anyway, so we might as well save the time that we otherwise would have wasted doing work that no one will appreciate. Sometimes, it's more subtle than this — but our fear of rejection can lead to all sorts of procrastination and delay tactics when it comes to making progress in our online business.
In moderation, this fear makes some sense. After all, worry about what people will think is what drives us to make quality products, blogposts, podcasts, etc. But once it begins to permeate every aspect of your life, dominating your emotions; and forcing you to accomplish very little throughout the day, it has become pathological and needs to be dealt with.
My advice is the same as greats like Michael Jordan. You miss every shot that you don't take. So, set your fears aside and push forward today. You'll be glad you did.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for your motivational blog post this morning. Having just released as a pre-launch my very first product last Friday everything you mentioned was in the back of my mind. But like you say, put it aside and push forward which is what I have done.
I (like a proud parent) now have my own customer base, and am getting prepared for my big launch with my JV partners (Jason Fladlien, John S Rhodes and number of others).
Exciting times – cheers!
I think people should just get off the mind block thing and do like ‘Nike” Just Do It

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the reminder. I am very new to this cyber world and have been trying for months to take that next step, but I always seem to get side tracked. Part of the problem seems to be I am still trying to find the legs I need to stand on for firm footing so I can take the next step. But I have known all along that my main problem is this fear of not getting it right the first time, or making a fool of myself, or not choosing the right method to get the results I need.
Your message this morning, is the kind of reminder I need every once in a while to keep trying and not give up. One day I hope to find those legs and actually get going.
If you don’t get a few rejections now and then you’re not doing it right 😉
