This is one of those things that you hear all internet marketer's talking about. You need to “get yourself out there.” You miss every shot that you don't take. Edison failed hundreds of times while inventing the light bulb. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
Why so many cliches? Usually, when there are that many silly sayings about something, it is because there is some truth there. The reality is that we often live in complete fear of failure. We spend so much time convincing ourselves that we cannot accomplish something (and that when we fail to accomplish it, our lives will be horrible) that we stop working towards it all together.
Instead of trying to accomplish the goal; and being disappointed only if we fail, we convince ourselves to hedge against failure by only putting in half as much effort as we could. Just like fear of rejection, fear of failure can be highly detrimental to our personal and business endeavors.
What if no one reads my blog? What if no one buys my product? Or worse, what if people hate what I have to say (or how I say it)?
Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Sometimes, even fear of success.
If you want to be truly successful in internet marketing, it is critical that you stop living in fear of failure. If it happens, it happens. But if it doesn’t need to happen, then don’t force it to happen with self-sabotage.

Great post and I love the video. They say it is your parents that form your habits from a young age, so maybe it is them that instill that fear into us of failing, but failure is not a bad thing, it is just a way of getting feedback.
That is such a valid point…we are afraid that something might not happen from all our efforts and so don’t do anything at all…why not try our best and see what happens?
Classic Jordan quote – and great video I’ve never seen before.
I think even worse than the fear of failure is the fear of regret. What if you never try to start that business, and then you find yourself years later lying on your deathbed? Yikesss – way scarier than failing!
