Using Thankfulness To Stay Motivated [LNIMV016]

It's almost Thanksgiving here in the US.  I was driving around at lunch today, and it occurred to me that I have a lot to be thankful for from a business perspective.  And that, in turn, provides a lot of motivation.  How about you?

I hope you’re doing great. I’m just out tootling around here. It’s a couple of days before Thanksgiving in the United States. I’m out for lunch, it’s day job time. I working a couple of days before Thanksgiving. The tradition in the United States for Thanksgiving is to spend time on that Thursday listing out, taking account of, and taking time to think about the things that you’re really thankful for; Thanksgiving Day.

So in a business context I’m thinking, “What are the things about my business that I’m thankful for?” There are really a lot of them. I’m thankful for the relationships that I’ve formed in the business, the mastermind group that I have, the success that I’ve enjoyed in the business, and I’m thankful for you. That’s right, you, listeners, viewers, and people who enjoy the podcast and videos. I’ll be bringing back a lot more content. The show frequency is going to go up and videos are going to go up in 2016. I’m really thankful to have the opportunity to do that.

I wonder what you’re thankful for. You can get a lot of motivation for your business by taking account of the things about your business that really get you excited and that you’re really thankful for. What is it besides the money or success that makes you happy about your business? What are you thankful for?

Take some time to think about that. As you plan your 2016 goals, which I know a lot of you are starting to do, use that accounting to figure out how to get some more of that. If it’s interaction with people that you really appreciate, make that part of your plans in 2016. The more aligned that your business is with the things that you’re really thankful for or that you’re likely to be thankful for, the more successful you’re going to be.
